Everything was awesome! I don’t think we’ve had so much hog meat in one review before! All the meat was super tasty and tender. The sausages were probably the best we’ve ever had, and we wished dearly that more places offered them. The rice was great, but there was way too much of it to consume with all that meat. The availability of rooster hot sauce and a slice of orange topped things off nicely. However, the coffee was pretty unappealing.
Our good friend and fellow breakfast fan Ingrid Gatin came along and tried their Canadian food, the Sun Ray Special. Thanks for taking one for the team, Ingrid, it looked bad. The bacon was deep fried to a crisp and there were no potatoes, only rice. Good looking toast though.
Definitely check out Mango Grove for all your pork needs, but do yourself a favour and stick to the Filipino cuisine.

The Mango Grove is a fairly large stand-alone building with giant windows which made it SUPER FRIKIN HOT inside. Seriously, it was hotter inside than outside, and it was pretty warm that August day. That aside, it also made me want to sing karaoke. I really don’t know why, it was the atmosphere of aesthetically defenceless tables and chairs and the huge TV on the wall.
While the Breakfast Connoisseurs are dedicated to bringing you reviews of Breakfast Specials as we all know and love them, this time we couldn’t pass up the chance to have the Filipino food special, called the Mango Special, though it contained no mango whatsoever.
It had: tocino (sweet pork), tapa (pineapple beef jerky), longonisa (Filipino-style pork sausage) with eggs and garlic fried rice or toast. They were out of tapa that day, so they gave us pork meat loaf instead.
Guess which one is hung over. (So very hung over)
